Rededication of Ballyboden Church

On the 10th of November the parish church of the Parish of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Ballyboden, was rededicated by Bishop Eamonn Walsh, the area bishop.  This ceremony took place following an extensive remodelling of the church.  The architect for the project was Paul Keogh and the artist was his wife, Rachael.  The project was begun under the previous parish team (Fr Padraig Daly OSA, Fr John Lyng OSA, and Fr Michael Brennock OSA).

Five stained glass panels by the well-known artist Des Carrick were donated by the artist's estate and can be appreciated in the new porch of the church and baside the new baptismal font.  During the ceremony the bishop consecrated the new altar and also installed the new parish team of clergy - Fr. Flor O'Callaghan OSA PP, Fr. Dick Lyng OSA CC, and Fr. Noel Hession OSA CC.

This marks an important landmark in the life of this parish which nestles in the foothills of the Dublin mountains.  We join with the parishioners in invoking God's blessing on the parish into the future.

Why not take a moment to enjoy the photos of this momentous event.  They are available to you in the gallery entitled Ballyboden Rededication.
